Girls’ Education Global Report Cards Interactive Microsite
Client: The Malala Fund | Role: Creative Director
For decades, world leaders have called girls’ education “the world’s best development investment.” But big promises haven’t always led to big progress. Millions of girls are still locked out of classrooms, dropping out early, or falling behind. As the UN Sustainable Development Goals deadline looms, Malala Fund needed a tool that could spark public pressure and demand real accountability from governments around the world.
Working closely with Malala Fund’s data and program teams, I led the Threespot team that brought the Girls’ Education Report Cards to life. I oversaw a UX strategist, two visual designers, and a software developer to shape a web experience that makes complex education data feel clear, human, and urgent.
We leaned into Malala Fund’s vibrant brand palette and illustrations to design an interactive, story-driven site that feels as celebratory as it is serious. Visitors can explore a world map to see how 120 countries are doing on girls’ education, diving into detailed country scores and key recommendations. We made sure the experience didn’t just surface statistics—it centered the voices of girls themselves, reminding users what’s at stake.
